Perhaps she thought that love could conquer all -meaning a love for her, along with that famous logic of 'Follow my lead if you love me'. Did Moretti love her? That was irrelevant. What about Mike Leigh? Paul Auster? Nonsense! Could we conclude from her strategy that her powers of seduction were of the kind to convert unbelievers?
